February 18 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am PST

Black History Month Workshop

This month’s Black History Month workshops will offer residents a meaningful and engaging opportunity to learn about and celebrate the significant contributions of Black individuals throughout history, particularly those who have helped shape the Central Valley. The workshops will include:

Educational workshop on Black Pioneers in the Central Valley:

Residents will learn about the lives and legacies of Black pioneers who made a lasting impact in the Central Valley. From trailblazing figures in agriculture, education, and civil rights to the local community leaders who fought for justice, this session will highlight the stories of these remarkable individuals and their contributions to the growth and development of the region.

Arts & Craft Projects – Famous Faces of Black History:

Residents will have the chance to get creative while honoring the legacies of well-known Black historical figures through an arts and crafts activity. Participants will work together to color and assemble tiles to create a beautiful poster featuring famous faces of Black history, from leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. to cultural icons like Maya Angelou and beyond. This fun, hands-on activity will inspire pride and celebration of Black history and foster creativity within the community.
