Cooking Matters is a 6-week program with Fresno Metro Ministry that is helping to end childhood hunger by motivating families to make healthy and affordable food choices.  The program focuses on teaching parents and caregivers with limited food budgets to shop for and cook healthy meals. Prior to the pandemic, the classes were held on-site at a few Fresno Housing property sites educating through interactive, hands-on lessons and providing resources on healthy eating for families.  Currently, the cooking course, facilitated by Luis Hernandez Ramirez of Fresno Metro Ministry, is available virtually through Zoom which started on Wednesday, February 10th and will conclude on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. The course shows participants how to incorporate the ingredients into different recipes that the whole family will love. The 6-week course will focus on the following topics: Drink to Your Health, Feeding in the First Year, Hack Your Snack, Kids Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables, Making Recipes Work For You and Money Saver Alert
